Science has allowed mankind to study and comprehend the massiveness that is our universe. For example, the Hubble Space Telescope was launched into space in 1990, it orbits Earth about 340 miles above its surface, and was used to observe certain areas of space located in the constellation Fornax. After data was acquired, it was all set in place which was soon to be an image revealing thousands of galaxies also known as the Ultra Deep Field (UDF). Although this was still only a project from 2003-2004. The scientists knew more data could be unraveled through Hubble.
After a while, astronomers and scientists were able to improve the Hubble Space Telescope, with the camera that would have the capability to capture the “eXtreme Deep Field”. The telescope was way faster and more progressive. Hubble's infrared camera is able to take more colorful pictures. Its image was capable of capturing the earliest galaxies in the universe. The XDF replaced the UDF as mankind's deepest and most reliable view of the universe ever achieved.
The XDF is often referred to as a time travel into distant past, because the earliest galaxy shown was more than 450 million years old. The scientific value of the XDF is astounding. Combining the data provided by the XDF, astronomers and scientists are capable of developing sturdy theories about the early years of our universe and how it changed over the course of life.
